The Illinois Central College Theatre Program is happy to present a 2011-12 season audiences are sure to enjoy.
The season begins with Ken Ludwig’s delightful farce Lend Me a Tenor. Nominated for seven Tony Awards, this is a laugh-out-loud perennial favorite of audiences around the country. Rated PG-13 and directed by Christopher Gray, the show runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 23 through October 2. Performances take place on the ICC Performing Arts Center main stage.
U.S. Drag by Gina Gionfriddo is a hilarious and witty jet-black comedy centered around two recent college grades on the hunt for love, money, meaning and a serial attacker (after all, there is a reward). Rated R and directed by Robin Berkley, the show runs November 11 through November 20 except November 14. Performances take place in the ICC Performing Arts Center Studio Theatre.
Next, don’t miss The Haunting of Hill House. Adapted by F. Andrew Leslie from the 1959 novel by Shirley Jackson, it follows a small group of “psychically receptive” people who are brought together in a dark, gothic mansion. Rated PG-13 and directed by Alan Walker, the show runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays February 24 through March 4. Performances take place on the ICC Performing Arts Center main stage.
The season closes with the wacky yet poignant comedy Fuddy Meers by David Lindsay-Abaire. It’s the story of Claire, an amnesiac who awakens each morning not knowing who or where she is. Rated R and directed by James Marlott, the show runs April 6 through 15 with no performance on April 9. Performances take place in the ICC Performing Arts Center Studio Theatre.
Season tickets are $24 for adults and $16 for students and senior citizens. Tickets to individual shows are $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
Sunday performances of all shows take place at 2:30 pm. All other performances of all shows begin at 7:30 pm.
