TazWood Dance Company Community Auditions Set for July 25

       The TazWood Dance Company, in residence at Illinois Central College, will hold auditions for company dancers and apprentice dancers for the 2012-13 season on July 25 at 7 p.m. in the ICC Performing Arts Center in East Peoria.
       Those auditioning should be 15 years of age or older and advanced dancers with a strong ballet background and strength in either jazz, tap, or modern. By dancing with the company, those accepted will develop skills that will help them in the professional dance world.
       Because the auditions will include warm-ups, technique, and combinations, those auditioning should come prepared to dance. Anyone auditioning should arrive no later than 6:45 p.m. There is no audition fee.
       Those accepted will dance with the company during the 2012-13 season which will include the holiday concert (November 29, 30 and December 1 and 2), and the spring concert (April 25–28, 2013).
       The TazWood Dance Company is a non-profit organization founded by Mary Dexter in 1982. Through Illinois Central College, the company offers classes, rehearsals and performance opportunities to advanced dancers from the greater Peoria area.
