Commencement is held each spring, and all graduates are welcome—whether you finished in summer, fall, or spring. Join us to celebrate your achievement.

Sunday, May 17, 2026, 2 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center.

The event will be live-streamed at 2 p.m. on YouTube, Facebook, and Tassel.

We will celebrate the Class of 2026 on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center. Mark your calendars for this milestone celebration.

Ceremony Participation

All potential graduates will receive an invitation to participate in Commencement – watch your ICC inbox. Follow the instructions in the message to register for the ceremony. If you’re nearing the end of your program, apply for your degree or certificate to be eligible for Commencement.

Cap and Gown

While registering, pre-order your cap and gown. Pre-orders are purchased at the East Peoria campus bookstore, April 27 – May 1, 2026. If you did not pre-order, a limited supply of caps and gowns is available for $35 plus tax.

Guest Information

It’s time for you, your family, and your friends to come together and honor this milestone. We’re excited to welcome your guests to the Commencement ceremony. Here’s what they need to know about attending.

  • Arena

    Commencement is held at the Peoria Civic Center, located at 201 SW Jefferson Ave, Peoria, IL. View parking information and directions.

  • Bag Policy

    Each Guest may bring: 

    • One clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag no larger than 12″x6″x12″, or 
    • One one-gallon clear plastic bag (e.g., Ziploc-style), and
    • One small clutch bag no larger than 5″x8″

    Exceptions:

    • Diaper bags (for children age 3 and under)
    • Bags containing medically necessary items

    These items will be permitted after a visual inspection by security.

  • Seating

    No tickets are required. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessible seating is available; no reservations are needed. Ushers will direct guests. 

  • Flowers

    Preorder flowers for your graduate. Avoid the line and pick up your order on-site the day of the ceremony. Visit our booth at the entrance to the ceremony.

  • Grad Gifts

    Surprise your graduate with a special gift from the ICC Bookstore. Shop our bookstore. 

  • Photography

    A professional photographer will capture:

    • One photo as your graduate receives their diploma cover on stage.
    • One posed photo off stage with a backdrop.

    There is no obligation to purchase. A link to view and order photos will be emailed to your graduate.

  • Accessibility Services

    ASL interpreters will be present for deaf and hearing-impaired guests. Accessible seating is clearly marked and available with the assistance of an usher.
